Chained and secluded,
Encrypted with vows of protection,
No lonesome heart could ever reach,
No curious mind could ever touch
Inviting,
Seducing...
Enticed by temptation,
Two hearts,
Two minds -
As how Epimetheus received his gift,
As how Pandora opened hers,
Slowly,
Gently...
Opened without hesitation,
Lo, and behold,
Oh what did they see?
From its sweet slumber,
Invoked its madness and fierceness,
the dark dragon of the past,
with its fangs,
filled with both the poison of vengeance and bliss
So hungry for a prey,
A vulnerable heart -
to tear apart.
Opened without fear,
Lo, and behold,
Oh what did they see?
Underneath the darkness,
A pocket watch,
Glistening, shimmering,
its chain still golden,
unstained,
cogwheels have stopped turning,
fate has decided,
to tell a story
as old as it can be
a sorrowful heart -
to mend,
unbearable pain
to halt.
Opened with uncertainty,
Lo, and behold,
Oh, what did they see?
In the midst of the ocean of uncertainty,
Haunted by the shadow -
its fangs feasting on two hearts
Slowly intoxicating,
Slowly...
bringing them to the fields of dreams
Fated by the curse of time -
its hands entrapping those two hearts
Slowly enthralling,
Slowly...
imprisoning them into the embrace of the past
Lo, and behold,
With the dreams and the curses,
Oh, what did they see?
From the bottomless pit of resentment and hate,
A jar, filled with butterflies,
Wings flutter incessantly,
Wanting...
Waiting...
to be free.
